GREAT NEWS! It was just recently that I heard the screams of our peacocks Sammy and Gypsy. Here at the farm, those sounds are a sure sign of spring. So despite old man winter’s efforts to torment us for as long as possible, it is clear that spring is right around the corner!
We are busy getting ready for the ‘Spring Hatch Celebration and Mother’s Day Sale which is going to be held on our opening day, Sunday May 1, 2011 from 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. During this celebration, attendees can take a General Animal Tour as well as meet the members of our spring hatch! We expect their arrival on or around April 26th so they will only be a few days old when they make their debut! After your tour, stay and have a bite to eat and be sure to drop into our Country Store and do some Mother’s Day shopping. You will find many gift ideas, as well as delicious, all natural Dalby Farm preserves, honey and more! If you, your family, or your friends are interested in taking a General Animal Tour during the Spring Hatch Celebration, like all tours, pre-registration is a must! Cost is $4.00 per person and tours will begin at specified times call 781-545-4952 to pre-register today!
Animal ‘Tales’
My name is Pumpkin and I am an Ossabaw Island Hog. I live and have grown up, at Dalby Farm with my sister ‘Patience’. We realize how disgusted
everyone has been with all of the snow this winter, but to us, it is something that we have enjoyed very much. Not only was it delicious and refreshing to eat but also we had a blast ‘rooting’ in it. We spent countless hours digging through it, hoping to find yummy things to eat. Although we never found much, we still had a lot of fun. Even though we are sorry to see the winter go, spring is right around the corner…
which means….. lots of mud! Yippie!!!
