GREAT NEWS! As a result of the awesome winter that we have ‘not’ had, we have been working on some long awaited landscaping and fence improvements. Upon your arrival, you should notice our work right away, we are happy with the look and hopefully you will agree!
We are busy getting ready for the ‘Spring Hatch’ Celebration and Mother’s Day Sale, which will be held on, Sunday May 6, 2012 from 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. During this celebration, attendees can take a General Animal Tour as well as meet the members of our spring hatch.
Also, this year we are very excited, as Sheryl Pace and her students from the Scituate High School Art Club have been creating plywood animal figures which will be placed around the farm; they should be a fun addition to the celebration. Be sure to check them out while you’re here! After wards, have a bite to eat and drop into our Country Store. We’ll have great Mother’s Day gifts, our all-natural Dalby Farm products, children’s activities & more!
If you, your family or friends want to take a General Animal Tour during the Celebration, pre-registration is a must! The tours begin at specified times and the cost is $4.00 per person; call 781-545-4952 to pre-register today!
May is my favorite time of the year; it is the time to honor our Mothers and to appreciate new beginnings. Mother’s Day 2008, Cheryl’s family really surprised her: that was the day that I became a part of the Dalby Farm family! I was just a kid then, still drinking milk from a bottle and no bigger than a large cat. Because I was so small, I could not go up back with Nate and Sophie. So, for a while, my home was in the mudroom and my bed was in a dog carrier. I remember feeling how loved I was, cuddling up on Cheryl’s lap while she bottle fed me 3 times, every day for 3 months. As you can imagine, loving me was easy, but finding the right name for me, was not! From what I have been told, I have always had a very high self-esteem and can, at times, be quite determined. Evidently, my peppy and ‘spicy’ personality, coupled with the speckled, ‘pepper like’ appearance of the fur on my back, is what ultimately led them to choose my name: Pepper!
