If you’re like me, you have young children who until now- weren’t able to safely socialize with other kids or make as many new friends as you’d have liked. If so, I hope you (fellow parents/caregivers) and your children will come to our family farm for some good and simple old-fashioned fun!
Aside from socializing outside with other kids, children (ages 2-4) can spend this ‘happy hour’ engaging in some fun, hands-on educational activities & crafts all while getting to know the animals on the farm!
Pre-K Story Time
Take some time to have some old-fashioned summer fun with your child! Join us Thursday mornings at 10:00 a.m., for our Pre-K Story Time. There will be two 4-week sessions that you can choose from. If you choose to attend both sessions, you won’t have to worry about repeated material because there will be eight different stories highlighting eight different rare farm breeds that live at Dalby Farm. Bring a blanket and a peanut-free snack!
The Dalby Farm Experience: Exploring Farm Animals
Exploring Farm Animals is offered to children entering grades K-2 and the program is offered, 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Monday July 19, Wednesday July 21 and Friday July 23.
Monday July 26, Wednesday July 28 and Friday July 30.
‘The Dalby Farm Experience’: Exploring Farm Animals is an interactive summer learning program for children entering K-2nd grade. Our farm provides an ideal environment for children to ‘experience’ learning through hands-on farm and animal activities, games and crafts.
Exploring Farm Animals, offers a different theme every day. The presentation, activities, and crafts are designed to reinforce and coincide with the presented subject matter so that the child has fun while learning. Each day of the program covers a different farm animal so that the participant can partake in both sessions without repetition.
Through a curriculum designed for children entering K-2nd grade, ’Exploring Farm Animals’ participants will learn about farm animals and their habitats, via stories, hands-on activities and crafts. Being on a farm, the children are able to explore them through their senses. They will hear the rooster crow, feel the softness of sheep’s wool and see the rich color and beauty of a chicken’s feather.
Each program participant should bring along a trashless boxed lunch and drink. It is also recommended that each child bring a refillable water bottle that can be used throughout the day.
Please note: The majority of The Experience takes place outside and each program participant will partake in outdoor activities, walk on wooded trails and will have contact with farm animals. The Experience will be held rain or shine. In the event of inclement weather, program participants should bring appropriate outerwear.
