Strawberry Rhubarb Preserves are an all-natural, old fashioned, New England favorite. One of my favorite things to do with strawberry rhubarb preserves is serving them it on warm biscuits, right out of the oven. First I smother them with butter so that it becomes all melted and then I cover them with the preserves! So delicious that I can never eat just one!
When my son was just 3 years old, he discovered the rhubarb plant growing in the garden. Before too long, he was picking it and devouring it stalk by stalk! Since then, every year for his birthday, rather than having a cake, he always requests that I bake him a home made rhubarb pie. I always chuckled, that such a little guy would like the taste of plain rhubarb but was equally glad because it was a healthier option for him than some of the other things that 3 year olds might want.
